But there's milk and cream and sugar, too

I mentioned to someone that I was making eggnog ice cream for a friend's housewarming potluck this weekend, but that I'm leaving out the bourbon--because, you know, some people don't like bourbon. I'm not one of those people, and I don't understand those people, but I respect their insane life choices anyhow.

This person pointed out that eggnog ice cream without the bourbon is basically just egg ice cream.

Now I remember how I felt when I learned the truth about Santa Claus.

Bah! Add nutmeg and suddenly it becomes eggnog ice cream again. Eggnog is more than just bourbon, I say! Or heck, just go crazy and make one batch with bourbon and one without. *grin*
The real question is, why put anything in besides bourbon?
well, I went ahead and made a batch of chocolate ice cream, anyhow. plus, i have it on good authority that there will be whisky of some kind or another available anyhow, which suits my purposes just fine.
